Athenian Agora: Agii Apostoli Church

The Agii Apostoli Solaki (Holy Apostles) Church in the Ancient Agora comes from the late 10th century. It is one of the oldest Christian churches in the area of the Ancient Greek Agora of Athens. It played a significant role in the development of Byzantine architecture. The church is built on the plan of a Greek cross (a cross with equal arms).
