Acropolis of Athens: Erechtheum

The Erechtheum or Erechtheion (Ἐρέχθειον) is an ancient Greek temple on the north side of the Acropolis of Athens. It was dedicated to the legendary Greek hero Erichthonius. On the south side, there is the famous “Porch of the Maidens”, with six female figures (caryatids) as supporting columns.
